Publishing Blog: This is the first time I have ever tried to self-publish a novel and I figured I would record my experiences for my own future reference and in case anyone else out there is someday as unsure as I myself currently am about what to expect from the self-publishing process.
July 11, 2014: After working for several months on my book, I have now finished the first draft. I have uploaded the first chapter to this website and have begun making inquiries for possible betas using one of the beta reader groups on goodreads.com.
July 15, 2014: I have now edited the story for the first time myself and have sent one pdf out to a beta reader and am continuing to try to find a second/third beta reader to make sure I have more than one outlook on the story before trying to self-publish. I'm hoping for a fairly quick turn-around time, as I want to get the book uploaded to amazon by mid-August. I am somewhat optimistic about this plan, although I have already independently found some logical problems with the book that I was able to patch up before sending the story to beta readers.
